When Quality Roofing took on a project in Red Wing, MN, the team knew they were in for something different. This 1.5-week re-roofing job at a McDonald’s franchise presented not only technical challenges but also some amusing moments for the crew.
Under the leadership of project manager Armando Ponce, the team worked with a tan TPO roofing material, a departure from the more typical colors used. “It was interesting for our guys to work with the tan TPO,” Ponce remarked. “Seeing the material in a different color really added to the experience.”
The tan TPO membrane was not the only unique aspect of this project. The work started with removing the old membrane, followed by a thorough inspection of the existing insulation. Quality Roofing then installed a 1/2-inch hard board before applying the tan TPO, all adhered securely to ensure long-lasting durability.
Since the roof was a wood deck, Quality Roofing’s team screwed down the hard board and carefully adhered the new membrane with adhesive. The attention to detail ensured a perfect seal, critical for keeping the building protected for years to come.
Ponce added that working on a McDonald’s franchise roof came with its perks—and challenges. “It always smelled like food up there,” he shared. “Our guys ended up getting hungry because they could smell the food being made!”
Despite the tempting aromas, the team stayed focused and completed the project on schedule, delivering Quality Roofing’s signature high standard of craftsmanship.
This wasn’t the first McDonald’s that Quality Roofing had worked on. The team also handled the re-roofing of a McDonald’s in Menomonie, WI. Their experience with franchise locations like these has given them unique insights into the specific needs of commercial clients.
With years of experience and a commitment to quality, Quality Roofing continues to be a trusted partner for commercial roofing projects throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. Whether it’s a complex re-roofing job or routine maintenance, you can rely on their expertise to get the job done right.
