Quality Roofing Inc. Completes Full Tear-Off Project for Saputo Cheese in Almena, WI

One of our recent projects was a full tear-off and reroofing job for Saputo Cheese in Almena, WI—a project that demonstrated our expertise in handling complex roofing challenges.
Project Overview
This project involved completely removing the existing roof system and installing a durable, energy-efficient new roofing system tailored to Saputo Cheese’s operational needs. Having previously worked with Saputo Cheese on multiple new construction buildings, they reached out to us again for this reroofing project—an ongoing partnership that speaks to the trust and quality we bring to every job.
Materials and Installation
To ensure longevity and energy efficiency, we installed a 60mil TPO membrane over a tapered insulation system. The full roofing system included:
Two layers of 1.5” insulation for enhanced thermal protection
½” HD coverboard for added durability
Vapor barrier installed directly onto the concrete deck
Fully adhered insulation system for superior performance
Unique Challenges
Every roofing project comes with its own set of challenges, and the Saputo Cheese facility was no exception. One of the most significant hurdles was navigating the glycol and ammonia suction lines running across the roof. These elements required careful planning and precision to ensure a seamless roofing installation while maintaining the safety and functionality of the facility’s critical systems.

The Saputo Cheese reroofing project took approximately two weeks to complete. Thanks to our experienced team and strategic approach, we delivered a high-quality roofing system that meets the facility’s long-term needs, all while minimizing disruption to operations.

Quality Roofing at Island Resort & Casino’s Convention Center in Harris, MI

Quality Roofing Inc. is proud to bring our expertise to Michigan once again, this time at the Island Resort & Casino in Harris, MI (near Escanaba). Our team is working on the convention center roof, reinforcing a space that hosts meetings, events, and world-class entertainment.
This project features a 60-mil black EPDM roofing system, ensuring durability and long-term protection for this premier venue. Engineered by UPEA engineers, the new roof will enhance the 13,000-square-foot flexible event space, which accommodates up to 650 guests with state-of-the-art amenities, including an outdoor courtyard, full-service catering, and advanced audio/visual equipment.
Last summer, Quality Roofing was in Gogebic, Michigan, and we are thrilled to continue working in the Upper Peninsula. Convention centers like this are typically awarded through public bids, and we are honored to have earned the opportunity to contribute to such a high-profile project.

For this project, Quality Roofing is installing a 90-mil EPDM membrane, a superior roofing solution that far exceeds the industry standard. While most commercial roofs rely on a 60-mil membrane with a 20-year warranty, this 90-mil membrane is built to last for 30 years, offering unmatched durability and long-term protection.
This high-performance material ensures that the Woodman’s Sports & Convention Center will be protected from harsh weather conditions, extreme temperatures, and the daily wear and tear that comes with maintaining such a large facility.
A Massive Undertaking
With a convention center of this scale, roofing requires precision, planning, and a skilled team to execute the job efficiently.
